Professional Requirements

Position Summary:

  • Meets with users of all levels to determine data and reporting needs.
  • Monitors and executes the daily, weekly and monthly routines for maintaining the applications’ operating efficiencies as directed by the respective vendors.
  • Monitors interfaces/feeds from source systems to applications responsible for.
  • Provides system training and application support for end users.
  • Participates in application analysis and support for existing and new applications.
  • Works closely with user project personnel to coordinate user department activities in defining, designing and implementing new systems or enhancements.
  • Prepares application plans and schedules, including dependencies, requirements, tasks, work assignments and resources.
  • Studies information needs for current and planned department application functions, and sources of required data and methods of obtaining it.
  • Studies operations, work problems and procedures to devise most efficient methods of accomplishing work.
  • Modifies file and record interrelationships, diagnoses and corrects errors, tests and documents work, and writes instructions applying program specifications and standard procedures. Plans, designs, installs and tests integrated files and programs to support information applications.
  • Continuously works on improving workflow utilizing information technology and performance improvement and compliance as it relates to these applications.
  • Meets with regularly the Business office and Finance departments to ensure functions are optimized and working properly to meet the needs of the departments.
  • Handle the day to day reporting for the business office and finance departments.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex application problems and monitors application performance.
  • Provides leadership including development and problem-solving to the Analyst staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Vocational degree or Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience in the respective applications and area of expertise

 

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field

 

Minimum Work Experience: 

  • 2 – 3 years IS operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • 3 – 5 years Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • 2 – 3 years Oracle database experience
  • Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments
  • Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
  • Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Skilled with Server 2005, Database Administration, Database Management

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation (List any licensure or certification:

  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).

 

Salary range is based on years of experience: $70,033.60 - $107,265.60 Annual Salary
